In conclusion, The Parable of the Dishonest Steward shows that monetary wealth is a curse because it is a tool of self-indulgence, which eventually turns the focus onto one's own enjoyment and can cause repercussions and suffering later. The slave-manager suffers for being charged of being wasteful and using his master's wealth for the wrong reasons. The slave-manager is initially accused of using his master's money dishonestly and for enjoyment purposes but later uses his power and authority as steward for the good of others and himself, thus becoming charitable and helping himself at the same time by acting wisely. The slave-manager is very hurt by the false allegations by his master and works very hard to regain his trust.
The first line of the parable uses the word "slander" meaning false accusations and the last line of parable uses the word "prudent" meaning exercising good judgment and acting wise. The author of The Gospel of Luke strategically places those words at the beginning and the end of the parable to show that acting prudently can adjust for the wrongness done by slander.…
