The Problem of Non-Belief

This is an imperfect system for a perfect being such as god to rely on, as it doesn't seem fair that a person's salvation is dependent on how adept the people around them are at converting. At times, people are swayed the opposite direction, into non-belief, by missionaries and evangelists, because they disapprove of their tactics. It does not seem just that this type of rejection should warrant eternal suffering. Often, there are people who are not exposed to positive images of believers . The priests of the Catholic churches who molest young boys do not live in an exemplary manner that those around them would necessarily intend to imitate. A man who devoutly believes in god may beat his atheist wife, suggesting to her that believers are no more deserving of salvation than non-believers are. …
