One of Path-Goal Theory's leadership behaviors is a directive style; one disadvantage is the assumption of low subordinate ability. As previously stated, only the most talented will be hired. Black Tie's tasks and mission will be well-structured making directive leadership another disadvantage. However, an advantage to this behavior is the employees will to know his or her tasks but, in addition, will understand these tasks will be ever evolving.
After carefully evaluating each leadership style of management, we have concluded that Path-Goal theory is the one which best describes how we want our employees to be lead into reaching the goals of Black Tie Dining. There may be some disadvantages to the Path-Goal theory; however, we believe that Black Tie Dining will have a better chance of reaching success with leaders of this style. A healthy organizational structure is one which adapts to change over time and we believe that healthy leadership will be most effective if treated the same. We believe the leaders of Black Tie Dining will help assist in creating and sustaining a healthy organizational culture.
