Hallucinations may be the voices a patient suffering with schizophrenia hears. The voices in their head could be carrying on a conversation, or telling the patient what to do. Illusions are when the patient thinks they see something happening that really isn't. Delusions are beliefs or impressions that are not real such as the belief that someone is plotting to kill them or control what they are thinking or how they behave. A patient may believe that they, or a member of their family, or someone close to them are in danger. Disordered thinking is how schizophrenia can cause people to have a hard time thinking straight. …
