The theme of my research is the most popular places to visit in Riga. My research purpose was to find out the most interesting and visited places where foreign and Latvian tourists go. If you ask me, which place is the most attended in Riga, then you won’t believe - it is the Central market- I can’t prove it with statistic data, because you don’t have to buy a ticket to attend the market; I don’t know, what sorts of things are so unusual or extraordinary there, but tourists just love it, and Lido chain- it tells so much about our culture: service stuff is clad in Latvian folk costume, traditional Latvian cuisine and accordingly decorations. It’s no surprising, if other countries presidents want the same restaurant in their country, like Russia president Putins and Belarus president Lukasenko (they specially ordered Mr Kirsont to build the same “Lido” in their country). Definitely we can be proud of that.
But I examined last year’s statistic data, which showed ten the most visited places in Riga following sold tickets count. While I researched I attended international exhibition hall “Ķīpsala” where occured “Balttour-2004” and information centre in Old Riga in Blackheads house, where I got more information of really important, curious things for pupil, which doesn’t know our country history, manners, and individuality.
