A Description of Images of Latvia

There are many traditional and modern images of Latvia that help people to have a better idea of what Latvian life is like today.

Many people think of Latvia and immediately think of Riga. The Monument of Freedom is a prime example of a characteristic image of Riga. This is because it symbolizes historical events. The three stars that the statue holds in her hands symbolize our country’s three regions – Kurzeme, Vidzeme and Latgale. Of course, the Monument of Freedom is not the only image most tourists imagine when thinking of Latvia.
