At certain situations, the human body produces a molecule called endogenous cannabinoids to regulate many processes in the body. This molecule is very similar to the active ingredient in marijuana, tetrahydocannabinol. Because the body does not always produce endogenous cannabinoids and the feeling of these molecules are pleasing, some people look to get the same feeling through marijuana.
Although addiction to marijuana is rare, a child experimenting with marijuana may experience a feeling that he would want to feel again, causing a slight obsession rather than a serious addiction. This could be dangerous because the adolescent probably does not know the negative effects that these chemicals have on the body. One serious effect is that too much of these chemicals can damage one's memory. Quitting marijuana can be very unpleasant as well, having symptoms of craving, decreased appetite, sleep difficulty, weight loss, aggression, anger, irritability, restlessness, and strange dreams.
There are many arguments over the legalization of drugs. One argument is that all drugs should be legalized. The person should decide if he wants to use marijuana or any other drug. It is one's own body and he should be able to do whatever he pleases to it.…
