Moral Significance of Animals Claims
Animal Rights
Some consider animals moral claims as ones equitable to rights. This is an absolutist position that maintains that any being that is a subject of life, has inherent worth and the rights that protect such wroth, all subjects of life have these rights equally.

Utilitarian
Considers the strength and importance of competing interests, e.g. killing for fur is not morally justifiable, killing one animal painlessly to feed a starving family, however, is.
Also, it can be argued that considering the animals limited interest in continuous life as such, it is hard to say that death brings it the same ‘badness’ as it would a human being.
