Monument of Oskars Kalpaks

In 2006 in the centre of Riga the monument of Oskars Kalpaks was revealed. Sculptor of it was Gļebs Panteļejevs and the architect was Andris Veidemanis. The monument was a gift by Oskars Kalpaks Fund to Riga city. The monument is made out of the black granite and stainless steel and it is placed in Esplanade, on Elizabeths street. I think that the monument is really successful and fits quite well in the urban city. I would say that the colour and form makes it look completely different than the other monuments in Riga. …
