V. Conclusion
As the Internet developed and grew by leaps and bounds throughout the '90s, so did UNIX. UNIX remains as the standard for Internet Service Providers although Microsoft developed their NT operating system with Internet Information Server (IIS).
In a study performed by Open Users Recommended Solutions (OURS) with the Gartner Group in 1993, 150 information technology (IT) professionals surveyed , it was found that among the most important skills for the future would be a knowledge of the "UNIX operating systems and systems programming."
