"The Peaceful Acquisition of an Empire"
Every nation in the world wants to rule that world. It is human nature to want to be the supreme power without any type of restrictions. To be that supreme ruler you have to do things in a highly unorthodox manner and then do some very questionable things. Most likely you will alienate yourself from your people, friends and the rest of the nations you conquer. You will merely be a ruler, a name whispered in the back of the room as you walk by or feared and hated by everyone. On the other hand if you rally your nation and country men to your cause the battle will be won and it will be celebrated by all in your empire. This is the difficult part, rallying everyone in your land to your side to fight your cause and to die for your cause. Thucydides portrays an interesting view of Athenian expansionist feelings, and then Socrates contradicts them all with is view of the arts.
