Gender Equity in Sports

A hot topic that has resurfaced in the past few years is the law known as Title IX. In 1972, congress passed the Title IX law which states, "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance" (http://bailiwick.lib.uiowa.edu/ge, 2002).
