Themes of A Separate Peace.

In the drama A Separate Peace by John Knowles is set in the 1940's during World War II. This story is about two boys finding their way through life. During a person's lifetime from birth to death somewhere in between they learn the most important things are acquired through their "wars". During their "quest" to find their true identity Gene and Finny are both secretly fighting a war against one another. This also leads to the main theme of the story, war.
