If the time period of 1875 to 1914 can be called The Age of Empire, than starting from the end of the 1st World War we can talk about The End of Empires. Throughout the 19th century the number of governors calling themselves emperors or number of governors thought to be emperors by Western diplomats was at its maximum.1 Besides, the way international economy had developed during the nineteenth century showed that tendency of strong, capitalistic states more and more controlling and using weaker states.
