KivonatZsugorodni

I was born in the city of Jelgava. That already alone tells that I am a citizen of Latvia. And to be a citizen of this or that country means that to a certain extant I am responsible for what I say, think or do in my country. It means that I need to honor the traditions, music, poetry, history or, in other words, the cultural heritage of Latvia as something sacred, unique distinctively and apart from the rest of the world, something that we can identify ourselves with. That should make me and every true Latvian proud of. Unfortunately, I cannot be proud of the national policy that stands on their personal desires rather than on the issues to be solved concerning the entire society. The governing policy should turn their attention on the nation, stand and even die on behalf of Latvia. In fact, the policy has shown no respect towards the nation whatsoever. Economical growth had experienced dramatic decline.
